Located on Lake McAlester in southeastern Oklahoma, the town of McAleter offers a delightful combination of urban and rural attractions. The lakes McAledter and Eufaula offer a variety of outdoor activities for families as well as a number of RV parks. The RV park offers much better accommodations for pets and children than hotels and motels, but it is still a great place to spend family days.

Pete's Place, which began in 1925, is one of the oldest restaurants in McAlester with over 100 years of history. Pete's is not only known for its delicious food, but there is also an original Choc Beer brewed directly on their behalf. The islands of Capri were opened in the 1950s and offer a wide range of dishes for guests looking for an Italian restaurant.
